What are cookies?

Cookies are small, simple text files that are placed on your computer’s hard drive when you visit a web page. These Cookies can help optimise your website visit. For example, they remember your preferences to show you only information that is of interest to you. Another advantage is that you do not have to log in or enter the same information every time you visit a particular website.

Why are we informing you about the use of cookies?

On Tuesday 5 June 2012, the amended Telecommunications Act entered into force in the Netherlands. Among other things, this means that certain cookies may only be placed with the internet user’s explicit consent. We therefore inform you that our website uses cookies and the reason for this.

Google Analytics

Cookies can also be used to track visitor statistics. We use Google Analytics to gain insight into visitor behaviour on our website. Using this data, we gain insight into the surfing and visiting behaviour of our visitors and, where possible, we can optimise our website for you. The information collected by Google is anonymised as much as possible. Your IP address is not provided.

Accepting or refusing cookies

You can decide for yourself whether to accept or refuse cookies. Most browsers are set to accept cookies by default, but you can usually adjust your browser settings to refuse cookies. You need to set this again per browser and for each computer. Explanations on how to change the settings can be found in the ‘help function’ of your browser:

• Google Chrome

• Internet explorer

• Mozilla Firefox

• Apple Safari

Please note: Some functions and services, on our and other websites, may not function correctly if cookies are disabled in your browser.
